RESEARCH REGISTERED NURSE are responsible for all elements of the nursing process when coordinating research activities. Assumes responsibility for study coordination, self-management and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care. Actively participates in collaboration with members of the interdisciplinary team to provide creative approaches to management of research processes, following established policies and guidelines.

Plans and delivers technically competent research in alignment with the ANA standards of Nursing Practice. Applies clinical knowledge to manage research, while organizing and prioritizing needs and ensuring assigned tasks are completed. Utilizes research regulatory guidelines to assess individuals to determine their qualification for inclusion in research protocols, document this assessment, obtain informed consent and provide relevant study information.
Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to conduct approved research studies. Applies knowledge, values and beliefs into research delivery without judgement or discrimination. Improves research processes to improve Veteran/patient driven care. Applies evidence-based practice/research and serves as an advocate resulting in improved outcomes in the immediate setting. Utilizes resources to contribute to efficient, cost-effective care delivery.
