The Chief Quality and Patient Safety Management Service (QPSM) executes leadership that is characterized by substantial and continuous responsibility and accountability for population groups and integrated programs that cross services and discipline lines and influence the organizational healthcare mission.
The incumbent is an advanced healthcare executive who executes responsibilities that demonstrate leadership, experience, and innovative approaches in the guidance and direction of a variety of complex patient care programs and services.
He/she functions as a leader, administrator, and consultant with a wide range of experience and authority that is broad enough to improve care for Veterans through their influence over policy development and decisions at the national level for staff at the Veterans Integrated Systems Network (VISN) and the facility levels.
The focus of this position is to optimize effectiveness of patient care delivery and management in support of the Veterans Health Administration's (VHA) mission and goals. This position is under the Office of the Director with the VA Caribbean Healthcare System.
