Job Summary

You will serve as a Safety and Occupational Health Manager with BLM, Headquarters, Directorate of Business Management and Administration, Division of Safety, Occupational Health and Emergency Management. Extended work hours are often required in emergencies. You may be required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime and shift work. You may be required to travel overnight away from home up to 5 nights per month.

You must obtain a government charge card for travel purposes.

Key Responsibilities

Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Conduct safety program management compliance reviews of Bureau-wide functional areas. Coordinate and facilitate serious accident investigations across the Bureau nationwide. Serve as the safety program management technical support and assistance for the entire Bureau. Provide support to other related Bureau programs, i.e., Emergency Management and Industrial Hygiene.

Coordinate, facilitate, and/or provide safety program training for employees, supervisors, managers and safety program management personnel.

This position does not allow substituting education for experience.
