Job Summary

This position is with the U. S. Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Denver Region. It is in the Denver Regional Office. The selectee will be expected to report to the assigned office listed above; this is not a remote position. This position is inside the bargaining unit. Relocation incentives MAY BE offered at management's discretion in accordance with agency policy.

Key Responsibilities

The major duties for this position include but are not limited to the following: Plans, develops and implements the Regional Office internal training and education program, providing for or personally conducting outreach sessions on new standards, directives, and other topics of current interest, both independently and in conjunction with a variety of stakeholders (such as committee organizations, partnership and alliance groups, federal agencies, etc.).

Develops and builds relationships with agency stakeholders. Represents the OSHA Regional Office at meetings of labor organizations, trade and industry associations and other groups interested in occupational safety and health. Serves as a resource for stakeholders within the region's jurisdiction on various agency programs or local initiatives.

Responds to public queries, including e-correspondence, regarding technical questions and interpretations of agency standards and policies. Reviews case files to evaluate compliance officer effectiveness and ensure that area offices are carrying out compliance responsibilities effectively and efficiently.

Provides on-going technical assistance throughout the region for developing and incorporating effective leveraging strategies for outreach program initiatives, ensuring that such initiatives are consistent with the Agency's strategic plan, Regional operations plan, and unit goals. Conducts briefings and training sessions to educate employers on the Safety and Health Act, record keeping policies, and OSHA established procedures.

Reviews Area Office inspection planning and scheduling activities to ensure compliance with agency policy on priorities such as catastrophes, complaints, and programmed inspections, and factors such as hazards, establishment size, and geographical locations.

Requirements & Education

If your education was completed at a foreign college or university, you must show comparability to education received in accredited educational institutions in the United States and comparability to applicable minimum coursework requirements for this position.
