Job Summary

This position is part of the Air Force Elements, U.S. Transportation Command.

Key Responsibilities

As a SECURITY SPECIALIST at the GS-0080-12 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serve as the Command Physical Security (PHYSEC) Officer. Serve as the JECC's Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) Officer and principle expert on all matters relating to AT/FP programs and operations within the JECC clamancy. Serve as the Command Industrial Security Officer (INDSEC) and administers the INDSEC program for the command.

Advise and provide counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management. Serves as the Command Information Security (INFOSEC) Officer and Command Operational Security (OPSEC) Officer.

Requirements & Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level. Other Notes: This is a Mission-Essential position performing a Mission-Critical-Function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions.

Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) and Security Asset Protection Professional Certification (SAPPC) conferrals are required within 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date to this position in accordance with DOD 3305.13-M, DoD Security Accreditation and Certification.

The duties of this position meet all requirements as a category 4 designation, and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the parent Federal Agency or office to function effectively. This position must be removed from the Ready Reserve and cannot become a member of the Ready Reserve. (IAW: DoDD 1200.7, "Screening the Ready Reserve,
