Key Responsibilities

The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as a Security Specialist within the Headquarters Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI), Information Protection Office.

The incumbent is responsible for the development, planning, oversight, administration, management, implementation, accreditation, and enforcement of one or more of the security-related disciplines (personnel, industrial, physical) that affect accredited classified facilities such as Secret Open Storage Areas (SOSAs), Sensitive Compartmented Facilities (SCIFs) and Special Access Facilities (SAPs) within AFOSI.

DUTIES Incumbent serves as a Security Specialist for one or more security programs (e.g., Special Security, Personnel, Physical, Information, Industrial and their associated training requirements). Develops goals and objectives that integrate organization and security management objectives. Provides oversight and direction for assigned Security Program(s) in accordance with applicable DoD and USAF directives.

Implements local policies and procedures for the classification and protection of classified national defense and other sensitive information originated or controlled by supported activities. Manage and Evaluates Security Programs. Administers the SCI security program to include security oversight for SCIFs and AFOSI cognizance. Manages the personnel security program. Reviews and reports all derogatory information involving SCI indoctrinated personnel.
