This position is located in Division of Risk Management Supervision Capital Markets, Accounting, and Policy Branch, Exam Support Section and is responsible for providing expert guidance in all pertinent matters relating to policy and supervision for capital markets risk, capital markets risk management techniques, and the economic and regulatory capital requirements of financial institutions.

Serves as project leader and a senior authority in the formulation, advancement and implementations of agency and/or interagency policy, procedures, regulations and supervisory guidance with respect to regulatory capital, liquidity, interest rate risk, capital markets instruments, activities, and strategies (including structured products, trading activities and derivatives activities); and other supervisory and examination issues.
Oversees and performs expert level analysis and examination of bank and non-bank financial institution activities including stress testing exercises, market risk reviews, capital markets-related horizontal reviews, market making and underwriting metrics, derivatives activities (including hedging), and other similar data intensive or model-based analyses.
Provides primary and technical examination and supervisory guidance, advice, and assistance to RMS Washington Office management and staff, RMS regional and area office management, RMS Regional Capital Markets Specialists, other regional and area office staff, and field examination staff primarily in areas of liquidity, sensitivity to market risk, securities, regulatory capital, and other capital markets related matters.
Provides authoritative recommendations that guide the development of Division policies and revised supervisory approaches to the examinations that relate to liquidity, sensitivity to market risk, securities, regulatory capital, and other capital market-related matters. Assesses regulatory changes, capital market developments, and emerging risks to determine their implications for the broader economy, the banking sector, and the Deposit Insurance Fund.
Provides high impact recommendations for maintaining safety and soundness and safeguarding U.S. financial stability. Performs advanced research on complex financial and capital markets issues, instruments and strategies. Analyzes the current and potential impact of capital, earnings, liquidity, and market risks across insured institutions and contributes findings to policy development efforts.
Performs research and develops analytical reports on segments of complex capital markets issues regarding capital market instruments, insured institution's use and involvement with/in capital markets and the associated risks. Analyzes the actual and potential impact of capital, earnings, liquidity and market risks to insured financial institutions. Develops frameworks to ensure these risks are effectively measured, monitored, and supervised.
Performs financial and economic analyses to identify sources of capital markets risk in financial institutions that must be measured and/or monitored by regulatory agencies.
