The purpose of the position is to counsel and advise the Executive Director for Business Operations and senior leadership on the administration and management of OUSW(A&S) and the effectiveness and efficiency with which OUSW(A&S) and its components carry out their assigned programs and functions.
Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following: The Senior Management and Program Analyst (herein referred to as 'Analyst') analyzes, liaises, and advises senior executives and leadership on the administration and management of the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Acquisition and Sustainment (OUSW(A&S)) and reports to the Executive Director of OUSW(A&S) Business Operations.
Other major duties and responsibilities include: Executes Chief of Staff duties and serves as the principal operational integrator for the leadership team, driving the execution of the Principal's strategic priorities, coordinating the flow of critical decision packages, and ensuring cross-functional alignment across all subordinate directorates.
Performs Chief of Staff functions to orchestrate the battle rhythm of the Executive Office, to include managing senior leadership agenda topics, developing prep briefs, tracking action items, and synthesizing complex issues into clear, executive-level decision memoranda.
Acts as a Chief of Staff gatekeeper and facilitator, filtering and prioritizing incoming requests, sensitive matters, and policy disputes to optimize the Executive Director's and Under Secretary's time and focus. Orchestrates and implements short and long-range organizational, administrative, and management plans, strategies, and policies to enhance business operations efficiencies across the organization.
Formulates strategic advice and provides confidential counsel to OUSW(A&S) Senior Executives on sensitive and wide-ranging administrative and management issues.
Trains personnel on practical methods to conduct daily work activities including, but not limited to, mission and position suitability assessments, position descriptions, workforce structure and planning, effective space management, data analytics, calendar management concepts, time management, and how-to-organize quick links for efficiencies.
