This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.
Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

Truman Memorial Veterans' Hospital (Truman VA). The incumbent is assigned to the Behavioral Health (BH) Service Line at Truman VA.
Truman VA is a level 1C Medical Center, which provides both outpatient medical and mental health services at the main facility and at each of the nine Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs).
Duties may include: Conducts frequent (at least weekly, and sometimes daily) direct contacts with Veterans with serious mental illnesses to provide community-based individualized intensive mental health treatment services as part of a shared caseload treatment model with an average staff to patient ratio of 1 clinician per 7-10 Veterans.
Provides services to Veterans in a variety of private and public settings, exercising independent professional judgment to maximize intervention effectiveness while protecting Veteran privacy and safety. Independently assesses and addresses acute and chronic mental health and medical issues, with clinical emphasis on identifying and strengthening the Veteran's capacity for self-management.
Utilizes naturalistic community settings for coaching and modeling problem-solving skills to promote community integration and socialization. Engages in assertive outreach to identify and implement creative treatment interventions tailored to individual Veteran's needs and circumstances.
Serves as the primary liaison between the Veteran and other VA or non-VA healthcare teams providing contemporaneous services, independently managing care coordination to ensure continuity across multiple systems. Independently assesses Veteran safety within the living environment and coordinates with law enforcement, Adult Protective Services, and other community partners as clinically indicated.
Collaborates with RANGE staff, including the RANGE Program Manager, on quality improvement initiatives, and contributes improvement ideas and empirical findings to guide program development. Work Schedule: Tuesday-Friday 7:00am-5:30pm - Alternate schedules available, will be discussed during interview.

When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade).
