The primary purpose of this position is to: Conduct operations in, from, and to space to deter conflict, defeat aggression, deliver space combat power for the Joint/Combined force, and defend U.S. vital interests with allies and partners. PURPOSE: To serve as a contingency planner with responsibility for planning, developing, and carrying out plans development in accordance to national strategic guidance.
DUTIES Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for framing complex national security problems by leading analytical research studies to discern the myriad of strategic guidance documents (e.g., statutes, treaties, national strategies, Joint Strategic Campaign Plan [JSCP], Standing Rules of Engagement, etc.) applicable to planning at the CCMD strategic level. Establishes precedents in application of problem solving techniques to enhance existing processes.
Develops globally integrated warfighting options by understanding and implementing the adaptive planning and execution (APEX) processes for joint and combined military planning to produce cooperation, competition, and warfighting options to the CCDR. Develops globally integrated Combatant Command deliberate plans by synthesizing the results of the problem & solution framing into CCMD plans crossing the Cooperation & Competition, Crisis, and Armed Conflict spectrum.
Senior planner and matrix team leader. Establishes, leads, and manages operational planning teams (OPTs), joint planning groups (JPGs), and/or other planning initiatives on behalf of the J5 Directorate in support of CCMD campaign and deliberate planning.
