Job Summary

This position functions as the Program Coordinator, overseeing the administrative and clinical components of the Housing and Urban Development-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) program within the Homeless Programs Section of the Social Work Service (SWS) at SAVAHCS. The incumbent manages fund control point(s) within the program, overseeing daily data use for program operations and long-term evaluation.

Key Responsibilities

Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Supervises a multidisciplinary team-including HUD-VASH supervisors, social workers, peer support specialists, vocational and housing staff-they provide administrative, technical, and clinical oversight, fostering outreach and coordination across VA and community partners.

Sets performance expectations, monitors work, conducts reviews, gives feedback, and manages personnel actions, including leave approval and disciplinary measures. Manages information and analytical systems to improve patient service quality, tracking HUD-VASH vouchers, referrals, discharges, visits, demographics, equipment use, and satisfaction in line with national directives.

Develops and reviews clinical guidelines, protocols, and SOPs to ensure service utilization aligns with accreditation standards, OIG, and VA policies. Ensures HUD-VASH HOMES data is accurate and reconciled with PHA and tracking systems, updating the Homeless Staffing Database monthly to reflect current VA Central Office-funded positions. Collects and submits program data per NEPEC requirements.

Provides technical assistance to external agencies and utilizes trend analysis for program improvement. Oversees the planning, development, and compliance of the HUD-VASH program, ensuring adherence to standards and directives, and addressing barriers and safety concerns. Participates in process improvement projects, completing the Yellow Belt training within two years.

Ensures timely submission of reports, correspondence, and official documents to leadership and external entities. Develops and monitors clinical practice standards, guidelines, and manuals based on data and research, ensuring staff compliance and timely reviews. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 07:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade).

Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience. Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.

Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.
