This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.
Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

Screening: May participate in the screening and assessment of Veterans referred for admission to the RRTP program.
Case Management: Responsibilities include providing supportive services and assistance in coping with acute conditions, chronic conditions, trauma sequelae, community adjustment, discharge planning, addiction, and other health problems. Treatment Planning/Goal Setting: Responsible for developing the treatment plan in collaboration with the Veteran, the interdisciplinary treatment team, family members, and significant others as clinically indicated.
Psychotherapy: Provide Veterans with short-term individual and group psychotherapy as clinically indicated and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary treatment team. Group Work: Facilitate psychotherapeutic and/or psychoeducational groups as appropriate. Referral to Service Providers: Primary coordinator of and point of contact for VA and/or community resources.
Collaborate with other service providers in ongoing assessment of the Veteran's need for case management services and/or discharge planning. Resource Usage/Development: Responsible for using the current social work resource file of VA and community social service programs and enhancing the content to the benefit of Veterans. Advocacy: Acts as an advocate serving the best interest of the Veteran/family.
Also acts as an advocate for the VA and need for services in specific geographical areas. Crisis Intervention:Makes urgent risk assessments and developing crisis management plans. Education/Health Promotion and Prevention: Provides education related to VA and community resources, entitlements, and health care planning, and will refer Veterans/families to the appropriate interdisciplinary team member for identified health education needs.
Coordination of Non-Institutional and Institutional Services: Responsible for the coordination of referrals to non-institutional services such as Adult Day Health Care, hospice, respite, and community nursing home care services in collaboration with the interdisciplinary treatment team members. Supportive Counseling: Provide the Veterans with ongoing supportive counseling.
