The primary purpose of the position is to perform the duties of a Store Worker (Fork Lift Operator). Incumbent works in one or more departments within the store and performs a variety of duties involved in receiving, handling, marking, preparing, displaying, and maintaining the stock levels of resale items. The work involves regular and recurring operation of an electric, diesel, or gasoline powered fork lift.

Performs a variety of duties involved in receiving, handling, marking, preparing, displaying and maintaining the stock of resale items. Involves regular and recurring operation of forklift and may at store management discretion, include order writing tasks. Determines the amount of shelf space to be used for various items within a department and estimates the space requirements for new items or increased quantities.
Receives supplies, equipment, and perishable, semi-perishable, and non-perishable resale items in the receiving area of the commissary. Verifies shipments by checking the shipping documents, making proper notations on the documents, and identifying any obvious spoilage, damage, overages, or shortages.
