Relocation Authorized Position: All relocations will be placed on hold at the time of selection, as USBP awaits to receive funding. This position will allow you to use your expertise to prevent illegal entry of aliens into the United States by land, water, or air; enforce criminal provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Laws; and seek out and apprehend smugglers or aliens who are in the United States illegally. This position starts at a salary of $109,383.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $142,199.00 (GS-13, Step 10). As a first-line Supervisory Border Patrol Agent (Intelligence), you will serve as a primary law enforcement officer (under 5 U.S.C.
8336 (c) and 8412 (d)) and be responsible for: Leading a unit or team of Border Patrol Agents in detecting, deterring, preventing, interdicting, and responding to cross-border violations and threats involving illegal entry, human smuggling, narcotics, contraband, terrorists, and terrorist-related weapons.
Collecting, refining, analyzing, and disseminating strategic and tactical intelligence derived from a variety of sources, including informants, law enforcement partners, government and community organizations, and private citizens. Providing guidance, instruction, and leadership to Border Patrol Agents in accomplishing operational and intelligence objectives.
Identifying operational problems, apprising higher-level management of deficiencies or unusual issues, adjusts work assignments and schedules, and justifying resource needs to support mission requirements.
