Key Responsibilities

This position will allow you to use your expertise to prevent illegal entry of aliens into the United States by land, water, or air; enforce criminal provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Laws; and seek out and apprehend smugglers or aliens who are in the United States illegally. This position starts at a salary of $109,383.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $142,199.00 (GS-13, Step 10). The Supervisory Border Patrol Agent (BORTAC), serves as a secondary law enforcement officer (under 5 U.S.C. 8331 (6c) and 8412(d), duties and responsibilities include: Resolving emergency situations and high risk incidents while reducing the risk of loss of life or serious injury to officers, victims, or innocent third parties.

Providing responses to situations involving civil disturbances, hostage situations, high-risk warrant executions, tactical operations/ situations, reconnaissance/surveillance services, civil emergencies.

Demonstrating a high level of skill in weaponry, self-defense, crowd control, confrontation management, aquatics, rappelling, land navigation, chemical control agents, anti-terrorism tactics, hostage negotiations, building entries, emergency rescue procedures, small unit tactics, tracking and airborne insertion operations.
