Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations, Miami Field Office, Miami International Airport, located in Miami, Florida.
Joining the Customs and Border Protection Office of Field Operations will allow you to use your expertise to manage one or more national programs in order to help to detect and prevent terrorists and instruments of terror from entering/exiting the U.S. Apply for this exciting opportunity to direct programs that strengthen the Department's ability to perform homeland security. This position starts at a salary of $116,493.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $151,443.00 (GS-13, Step 10).
Duties include: Directing, coordinating, assigning, organizing, and evaluating the full range of inspection, intelligence analysis, examination, and law enforcement activities related to the arrival and departure of persons, conveyances, and merchandise at Ports of Entry. Providing recommendations regarding medical proficiency and replacement or retirement of ineffective detector canines and coordinates with Field and Headquarters program manager.
Training canine officers in field training designed to maintain detection proficiency. Developing overall plans and objectives for the organization by anticipating and solving canine training problems.
