Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations, Passenger Division located in Sterling, VA.
Joining the Customs and Border Protection Office of Field Operations will allow you to use your expertise to manage one or more national programs in order to help to detect and prevent terrorists and instruments of terror from entering/exiting the U.S. Apply for this exciting opportunity to direct programs that strengthen the Department's ability to perform homeland security. This position starts at a salary of $147,899.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $192,275.00 (GS-14, Step 10).
In this second-line Supervisory CBP Officer position you will become a key member of a team of homeland security professionals detecting and preventing terrorists and instruments of terror from entering the United States.
Typical work assignments include: Providing program guidance on monitoring and analysis of processes and procedures; Using various analytical tools such as automated databases to maintain awareness of current and emerging threats that may impact internal and external stake holders; Providing technical direction and guidance to CBP field locations and other law enforcement agencies on strategic issues; Overseeing the implementation of quantitative and qualitative analysis and establishing metrics for programs that may include risk assessment on patterns and trends; Directing, coordinating, and overseeing the work through subordinate supervisors, making them aware of and monitoring their progress in meeting the requirements of their position.
