This position is located within the Portland Area Indian Health Service (IHS), Warm Springs Service Unit, Warm Springs OR. Incumbent serves as a Supervisor, responsible for general laboratory tests performed at the work site and may include such specialization as chemistry, toxicology, microbiology, molecular diagnostics, parasitology, hematology, immunology, urinalysis and immunohematology. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R.
37.5 (2021).
Performs a wide range of clinical laboratory tests/examinations for use in clinical diagnosis, patient screening, patient therapy, and other authorized purposes. Recognizes and reacts to indicators of malfunction, locates and implements corrections. Withdraws appropriate quantities of blood by venipunctures and capillary methods. Performs related taska as proper labeling; cleaning and sterilizing equipment.
Conduct continuing review and evaluation of laboratory operations, establishing effective systems, standards and instructions for the operation of the laboratory program. Compile laboratory data and prepare current records and reports on such matters as workload for quality assurance, accreditation standards or other program review, budgetary, and other purposes. Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and requirements governing.
