This vacancy is for a GS-1102-13, Supervisory Contract Specialist located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, PROGRAM MANAGEMENT and SYSTEM SUPPORT BRANCH -LOG-96 in NORFOLK, Virginia.
You will serve as a Supervisory Contract Specialist and be responsible for procurement to support DOL-9 and all Areas of Responsibility (AOR) including but not limited to: the acquisition of supplies, services, or emergency response to procure any commodity/service requires to support the AOR. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.
Typical work assignments include: Develops and implements acquisition strategies for various contract actions. Supervises GS-1102 and military staff, directing workflow execution, priorities, and technical operations. Conducts reviews of contracts, contract changes, or procurement practices within predetermined categories based on dollar value, method of acquisition, and other factors.
Directs HR functions, establishing performance standards, evaluating staff, resolving grievances, and mentoring personnel. Approves acquisition instruments and documentation to ensure strict regulatory and policy compliance. Mandatory training is required which must be successfully completed and other training may occur as necessary for success in the position. A. A Federal Acquisition Certification in Contracting (FAC-C) Professional is required or a waiver maybe requested.
