Job Summary

The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as Fire Chief of Joint Base San Antonio, sharing with the Division Chief thefull scope of responsibilities for the overall management and supervision of the fire protection/crash rescue and fireprevention program JBSA-Lackland AFB, Randolph AFB and Fort Sam Houston.
Key Responsibilities
Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the Fire Protection Flight. Develops goals and objectives that integrate organization and Civil Engineering objectives. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Represents the Fire Protection Flight with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
Assumes full charge at crashes, fire, or emergency situations, directing activities and personnel, transmitting instructions toAssistant Chiefs on the scene or other personnel as to the procedures to be followed. Determines need, budgets for, and recommends acquisition of additional and/or different fire protection, firefighting, andspecialized rescue equipment, contract services, formal training, etc.
