This position is located in Division of Financial Services at Phoenix Indian Medical Center, Phoenix, AZ, The incumbent ensures an efficient, accurate, and timely system of collecting patient registration and admissions eligibility data and collection of third-party alternate resource data from patients, maintain a pre-authorization and predetermination system to improve third party billing collections.

Health System Specialist Duties: Responsible for planning, directing, and integrating the programs and processes of patient registration functions.
These includes: Patient Representative functions that determine eligibility, registration processes with Third Party Collections Program; Responsible for patient data/workload reporting function, developing briefings, charts/graphs, and statistical reports as requested by management; Utilizes the patient database information system which includes conducting patient interviews to update information on demographic and thirty party resource data, recording the information and submitting to the Third Party Reimbursement Office; Exercises delegated authority to make a preliminary determination in cases of questionable eligibility and probably third party liability.
