Job Summary

This position, located at the Eastern Oklahoma VA HCS, Office of the Chief of Staff, provides oversight and administrative management of all ambulatory care services in the Medical Center and related Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) as it relates to access to care as applicable.

Key Responsibilities

Major duties of this position include but are not limited to...

Develop policies, processes, and departmental program goals and objectives related to the VA mission for programs within the Chief of Staff's purview Take ownership of and present concepts, provide recommendations, impart philosophies, and policies to top management relating to the activities being considered by the Chief of Staff and act as a representation of the executive leadership team Develop and coordinate professional service budgets and the distribution of resources to the various clinical services Coordinate efforts to ensure patient concerns are received, evaluated, and addressed in a timely and effective manner by the appropriate subject matter experts Deploy an analytics system for the collection and analysis of outpatient care patient feedback for access and quality measures at the VAMC Establish benchmarks and a process for taking corrective actions on decreasing/low scores in Veterans/Staff experience data Develop and maintain annual budget plan and staffing plans for outpatient care Develop, implement, monitor, and adjust plans to effectively and cost-efficiently accomplish the mission within budgetary constraints Perform cost analyses and cost effectiveness studies Develop both long- and short-term policies and plans for the healthcare system Assist in the development, implementation, and tracking of short-term and long-term clinic business plans Serve as the supervisor for a unit engaged in clinic access and data analytics Maintain overall programmatic responsibility for the efficient operation of the program Work with local personnel to integrate data analytics and measures with continuous process improvement utilizing LEAN, Six Sigma, and other improvement methodologies to meet and sustain ambulatory care goals and objectives Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm Position Description Title/PD#: Supervisory Health System Specialist/PD148800 Physical Requirements: Performance of the incumbent's duties may require extensive walking per day to meet with the VAMC quadrad, Clinic Leads, Administrative Leads, MAS staff, and other clinic personnel.

Trips to satellite outpatient clinics are sometimes necessary and will involve transportation via station vehicle or privately-owned vehicle. The work performed is of a precise nature requiring long periods of concentration that is often interrupted. Incumbent is often faced with changing priorities and with meeting deadlines.
