This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Directorate for Management, Office of the Chief Information Officer. The primary purpose of this position is to manage the DHS Headquarters (HQ) endpoint infrastructure and end-user services program segment, driving the end-to-end delivery, planning, and management of DHS Headquarters (HQ) IT services to address customer issues proactively. Non-BU: This is a non-bargaining unit position.
This position supports DHS Components and external organizations by optimizing infrastructure, eliminating bottlenecks, and fostering strategic alliances that span unclassified and classified digital workplace platforms, unified communications systems, and external client organizations.
As a Supervisory Information Technology Specialist, GS-2210-15, your typical work assignments may include the following: Oversees work involving complex administrative and technical services that affect the organization as a whole or a major mission-critical program segment. Coordinates with internal offices and outside organizations to achieve program goals and resolve work issues.
Integrates IT programs across disciplines and defines the scope and level of detail for plans and policies affecting the organization. Implement, supervise, and direct cybersecurity compliance, control assessments, vulnerability management, and cybersecurity reporting functions. Develops long-range plans for assigned branch functions, especially where goals are broad, vague, or not fully defined.
Provides leadership and guidance to subordinate staff, including coaching, mentoring, succession planning, and resolving work-related problems. Leads and manages major IT programs or program segments that have significant resources and organizational impact.
