Job Summary
This announcement is issued under the Direct Hire Authority (DHA) to recruit for positions for which there is a critical hiring need. Selectee(s) will receive a career or career-conditional appointment in the competitive service and may be required to serve a one year probationary period. The official title of this position is Supervisory IT Cybersecurity Specialist (INFOSEC), GS-2210-15.
Key Responsibilities
Typical work assignments include, but are not limited to: Ensuring IT and cybersecurity artifacts (acquisition documentation, policies, procedures) are accurate, current, and aligned to applicable laws, statutes, and regulatory requirements. Clarifying customer requirements, communicating what is feasible within scope, schedule, and policy constraints, and confirming mutual understanding.
Reviewing and approving project scope, objectives, and requirements baselines based on customer needs, constraints, and mission priorities. Developing/maintaining multi-service strategic plans and uses performance and operational data to monitor service delivery and inform leadership decisions. Providing clear instructions and timely feedback to staff on work products, performance expectations, and administrative requirements.
Identifying gaps in acquisition, requirements, or cybersecurity processes and implementing improvements to increase effectiveness and consistency. Working with internal and external stakeholders to assess policy needs, develop governance, and build agreement for policy and strategy changes. Directing development/maintenance of security programs, policies, procedures, and tools to protect confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
