Key Responsibilities

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) to serve as the Maintenance Operations Superintendent providing staff support to unit maintenance activities including but not limited to contingency/war/mobility planning; budgeting; maintenance planning and scheduling, productivity data analysis, and training, maintenance operations center, maintenance supply support; manpower; support agreements; and other.

Plans, organizes, coordinates, and directs full-time activities of the Maintenance Operations and advises the Maintenance Group (MXG) Senior ART concerning assigned programs. RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Manages, develops, and directs key programs and activities for Maintenance Operations and the Maintenance Group (MXG).

Researches, interprets, and applies maintenance support and resource guidelines, policies, regulations including wartime/contingency planning, budgeting, supply and transportation, maintenance scheduling, SORTS, etc. 2. Directs the accomplishment of a variety of special projects/studies for the wing/group. Analyzes a variety of products and reports from Maintenance Information Systems (MIS) taking the necessary action to insure effective workload accomplishment.

Ensures aircraft hardware failure trends are identified. 3. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Provides technical and administrative supervision over a work force of civilian and ARTs. Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management. 4. Represents Maintenance Operations at conferences, working groups, management reviews as well as with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.

Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships. 5. Provides maintenance support for deployment requirements. Plans for and supports preparations to provide aircraft maintenance and logistics personnel, equipment, supplies and expendables to sustain both wartime and peacetime operations. 6. Advises the Maintenance Group senior ART/Commander on maintenance support matters.

Reviews unit programs and informs the commander on status, progress and actual or potential problem areas. Initiates or recommends policy or program changes to resolve problems.
