In this position, you will work as a member of the Office and Response and Recovery, Recovery Directorate, Assistant Administrator team. The ideal candidate has experience supervising staff or other supervisors, is able to quickly adapt to new innovations or direction from senior leaders, can provide clear, concise instructions to staff, and is able to motivate and mentor their team.
What will I do in this position if hired? In this position, you will serve as a senior leader in the Recovery Directorate. Typical assignments include: Directing the work of subordinate organizations and employees primarily consisting of analysts and advisors to manage work assignments, evaluate productivity, and ensure efficiency. Studying, reviewing and analyzing organization program and operations to determine current and future agency mission requirements.
Overseeing the analysis and advice to management on the effectiveness and efficiency of programs, operations, productivity, and/or resource utilization. Consulting with and providing senior management with updated doctrine related to strategic planning, agency priorities, and preparation and submission of resource management plans to support priorities. Making selections and/or approving selections of subordinate supervisory and non-supervisory positions.

All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description.
Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
