Job Summary

The Supervisory Medical Administration Specialist is considered a Section Chief. The Ambulatory Care Chief Specialty Care is aligned under the Assistant Chief of Health Administration Service at the C.W. Bill Young VA Medical Center, Bay Pines VA Healthcare System. The Supervisory Medical Administration Specialist is responsible for supporting and providing technical and administrative supervision to the section staff.

Key Responsibilities

The duties of the Supervisory Medical Administration Specialist include but are not limited to: Responsible for planning, developing, coordinating, implementing, evaluating, and reporting on plans and procedures required to meet administrative activities and programs within the section. Closely monitors the modules for compliance with regulatory guidelines, initiating discussion with staff concerning identified conflicts, and resolving.

Performs key coordination within the section, with other services in the medical center and other VA entities. Reviews work assignments and functions to positions to improve work flow to increase productivity and promote job satisfaction. Prepare plans to meet substantial changes in workload and propose and justify revisions in staffing levels, work priorities and deadlines. Responsible to create, actively promote and effectively, manage a culturally diverse work force.

Reviews final work products (e.g. action items, controlled correspondences, site visit findings) to ensure quality, accuracy and timeliness. Understands the operations, issues and perspectives of acute and ambulatory VHA clinical programs.
