Job Summary

This position is located within the Department of the Interior, National Park Service, National Park Service - Southeast, Cumberland Island National Seashore, Saint Mary's, Georgia. You may be required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime and shift work. Salary Range Information: GS-12: $89,508 - $116,362 (per annum): First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the step 1 rate.

Key Responsibilities

This is a Merit Promotion announcement for career and career conditional National Park Service employees, Career Transition eligibles (CTAP), Current or former time-limited employees eligible under Land Management Workforce Flexibility Act (LMWFA) and those who are eligible under the hiring paths listed above. Refer to Required Documents section for more information.

At the full performance level (GS-12) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following: As Chief of Interpretation and Environmental Education for Cumberland Island NS and Fort Frederica NM, the incumbent manages visitor services, public information, education, and the volunteer in the parks program for both parks. These programs form the core of outreach and interaction with the visiting public, neighbors, and partners.

The incumbent is a member of the Management Team, and is duty stationed at the Mainland Visitor Center in Saint Mary's, Georgia. The primary duties of this position are to supervise, manage, and/or perform work in the conservation and use of Federal Park resources.

This involves functions such as park conservation; natural, historical, and cultural resource management; and the development and operation of interpretive and recreational programs for the benefit of the visiting public.
