The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a first level supervisor in the Joint Special Operations University, College of Special Operations providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory incumbents and all internal processes and programs of record assigned to the Joint Special Operations University (JSOU).
Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of a department within the Joint Special Operations University's College of Special Operations, ensuring that its educational offerings comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs. Develops goals and objectives that integrate organizational, operational, and College of Special Operations educational objectives. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
Advises and provides counsel to subordinates regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management. Represents JSOU and assigned departments at a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with USSOCOM HQs, USSOCOM Service Components, Theater Special Operations Commands, Professional Military Education institutions, the Joint Staff, military services, agencies, DOD, Congress, and other US agencies and the public.
Develops and writes policy and position papers in response to actions originating in other DOD and non-DOD offices or agencies that have implications for national security and Joint Special Operations doctrine, strategy and concepts of operations.
Participates in and assists in the presentation of Joint Special Operations doctrine, strategy, and operations curricula to USSOCOM HQs, USSOCOM Service Components, Theater Special Operations Commands, Professional Military Education schools, the Joint Staff, military services, agencies, DOD, Congress, and other US agencies and the public.

The posted pay range is $125776 – $163514/yr.
This position is eligible for telework.
This position requires a Sensitive Compartmented Information security clearance.
