This vacancy is for a Supervisory Security Specialist in the Office of the Secretary within the Department of Commerce, Insider, Risk, & Continuity (OSIRC). All Office of Security, Insider Risk and Continuity employees are considered Emergency Employees and may be required to assist in providing essential services during an emergency, weather, or COOP event at the worksite, an alternate location, or via telework.
As a Supervisory Security Specialist, you will: Provide technical guidance and advice on adjudications of all levels of cases and the issuance of interim access approvals for the Department's personnel. Prepare and review Administrative Review packets in the denial and/or revocation action of security clearances.
Establish performance and improvement goals within the personnel security clearance process and monitoring the completion of compliance reviews of a nationwide program. Collect, analyze, and present metrics and data to include those from the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) or other similar stakeholders. Represent the Department interagency forums, as needed.
Provide guidance to senior management officials and interpreting regulations which impact Departmental organizations.
