The selectee will serve as a Supervisory Security Specialist in the Office of Administration, Security Programs Division. Typical work assignments include: Oversees, coordinates, and implements the Administrative, Information, and OPSEC Security Programs, which ensure authorized access to USSS facilities, as well as the safeguarding of classified, and sensitive but unclassified information.
Conducts research, provides analysis and presents findings and recommendations on subjects applicable to the assigned branch requiring fundamental changes that impact program activities and the mission of the agency. Identifies and resolves operational issues; develops and or modifies internal operating guidelines; and develops policy in security techniques, methods, and practices in order to meet the changing needs of the Service in satisfying security requirements.
Responsible for prioritizing and assessing work assignments based on time constraints, talent capabilities of staff, difficulty of assignments, and collaboration with other offices; evaluates program objectives, accomplishments, staffing, allocation resources, and equipment requirements. The Supervisory Security Specialist positions start at a salary of $143,913 (GS-14 step 1) with potential salary to $187,093 (GS-14 step 10).
