The VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System is actively recruiting for a Supervisory Social Worker. The incumbent in this position will assists in planning, establishing, and implementing policies and procedures; developing individual or group goals and objectives as well as monitoring, operating, evaluating, coordinating and overseeing the Social Work staff assigned to acute medicine and surgical units.
The Supervisory Social Worker duties include, but are not limited to: The Supervisory Social Worker duties include, but are not limited to: Provides coordination of care and direct case management and patient care services. Supervises a group of employees performing work at various GS levels up to their own grade and provides administrative, technical, and clinical supervision necessary for accomplishing the work of the unit.
Performs the administrative and personnel management function relative to staff supervised. Establishes guidelines and performance expectations for staff, clearly communicated through the formal employee performance management system. Observes workers' performance; demonstrates and conducts work performance critiques. Provides informal feedback and periodically evaluates employee performance. Resolves informal complaints and grievances.
Organizes and participates in complex patient multidisciplinary conferences with internal and external stakeholders Performs a wide range of services and provides technical assistance to State, local, and private agencies, and universities.
Performs program analysis, development, review, research, design, and contact work as possible with various agencies (public, DOD, state, etc.) Performs work related to the review, monitoring, analysis, planning and assessment of various programs.
