SUMMARY The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a first level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to 1 Special Operations Force Support Squadron.
To serve as the early childhood education specialist for all child care programs including child development centers, preschools, family child care, school-age, special needs programs, volunteer, hourly care programs, food service, and custodial. To exercise supervisory controls over the largest child development programs training programs at AFSOC, Hurlburt Field.
DUTIES Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of 1 Special Operations Force Support Squadron, ensuring geographically separated Child Development and Youth Programs comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities across geographically separated Training and Curriculum Specialists within Child and Youth Programs.
Determines, develops, arranges for, conducts, and oversees individual and program-wide training needs in early childhood and youth development and related activities for all child development center staff, family child care providers, school-age program staff, youth program staff and volunteers, management, administrative staff, custodial contractors, food service staff, and staff working in any unique settings for children.
Represents 1 SOFSS with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with installations Family Advocacy, Medical Advisors, Fire, Safety and Health at 3 different locations. Develop local special needs supports based on flight wide needs.
