The following are the duties of this position at the full working level. If this vacancy includes more than one grade and you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and receive training to help you grow in this position. Provides customer assistance primarily through telephone and other communication channels by responding to routine inquiries related to information return filing requirements.
Explains basic information reporting and filing requirements using established scripts, job aids, and reference materials. Assists customers in understanding general procedures for preparing and submitting information returns and refers technical questions beyond established guidance to higher-graded employees. Uses established guidelines, scripts, and reference materials to respond to inquiries and resolve straightforward issues.
Refers complex or unusual inquiries to higher-graded employees or the lead.
A college or university degree generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. For a list of schools which meet these criteria, please refer to Department of Education Accreditation page. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements.
You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. This is a Seasonal - Work is subject to periods of non-pay status as workload or budget dictates. Season length: 6 to 8 months each year. Tour of Duty: Monday to Friday, Day Shift 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM, or Swing Shift 4:30 PM - 1:00 AM, 40 hours per week. position.
