Job Summary
Click on "Learn more about this agency" button below to view Eligibilities being considered and other IMPORTANT information. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the manager of telecommunications to Department of Defense (DoD) Human Space Flight Support (HSFS) Office.
Key Responsibilities
Applies mastery of telecommunications networks to DoD HSFS doctrine, strategic plans and programs. Ensures that telecommunications support facilities/assets are effectively committed and meet operational requirements of DoD HSFS recovery/retrieval, medical evacuation and global rescue operations.
With latitude for the exercise of independent judgment, performs duties as DoD HSFS telecommunications technical authority from DoD HSFS Support Operations Center (SOC) and forward deployed locations. Functions such as telecommunications technical authority for DoD HSFS training and full mission profile exercises.
Prepares and delivers oral presentations such as briefings, training sessions, consultations, and strategy sessions with leaders/elements of USSPACECOM, the Combatant Commands, Military/Service Departments, the Joint Staff, DoD organizations, NASA, and other government organizations to secure cooperation, resolve controversial telecommunication matters, and convey information relative to proposed changes in DoD HSFS operations.
