About the position: This position is assigned to the Arts & Crafts facility of the 6th Force Support Squadron Community Service Flight, MacDill AFB, FL. Must be able to stand, stoop, bend and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally handle objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
Issues, receives and schedules use of equipment, tools and repair/paint stalls for patrons. Uses chit or other parts assignment system for accountability of assigned tools. Determines type of repair job involved and suggests a variety of tools needed to accomplish the repair. Provides instructions to customers on cleaning processes, soiled rag disposal, sweeping and cleanup of repair or pit stall and removal of excess automotive parts.
Ensures tools turned-in are clean, assesses breakage or damage if any; charging customer for tools according to prescribed price listing. Operates cash register and accounts for cash using established procedures. Maintains inventory control records of items issued, conducts minor maintenance and repair of tools and equipment. Accounts for condition, inspects tools upon return, bins, stores or replaces item with new. Arranges tools and parts as stock is replenished or added.
Develops display pegboards, cleans and grinds tools requiring sharp edges. Maintains a clean and orderly work area at all times. May be required to act as the primary or alternate equipment custodian.
