This position is part of the Air Force Elements, U.S. Transportation Command.
As a TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST at the GS-2130-12 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serves as a Traffic Management Specialist in the Department of War Personal Property Activity (DoW PPA).
Provide oversight and support to worldwide Defense Personal Property Program (DP3) personal property operations to resolve unusual occurrences and ensure onward movement of property affected by operation failures, bankruptcies, diversions, strikes or other unusual occurrences. Identifies and evaluates the impact of internal and external changes on the operating performance and viability.
Provide support on operational and procedural issues for DoW customers regarding their personal property shipments, including support to Inspector General complaints, Congressional Inquiries, direct complaints,claims, or issues elevated to the DoW PPA level. Conduct special studies and program reviews concerning the various transportation systems used by DoW for movement and storage of personal property to include during adverse situations.
Perform analysis and advise on matters relating to carrier performance and related system operations to write new policy to improve performance. Perform policy development, program management and program administration duties, and develop methods and procedures to improve the delivery of relocation services to Armed Forces personnel.
Develop and present briefings on policies, issues, and procedures to representatives of DoW PPA staff components, Joint Staff, Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Unified Commands, the Services, and other agencies.
