Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

The primary purpose of this position is: as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) to serve as the subject matter expert for the Aerial Port. As the senior Air Reserve Technician manages, advices and provides guidance to the Wing/Squadron/Geographically Separated Unit Commanders and Mission Support Squadron Commander.

Accomplishes a variety of tasks which ultimately result in the Aerial Port unit's capability to perform its wartime mission and ensures that reservists are properly trained and equipped to provide wartime combat and peacetime Aerial Port support. Provides training to reserve personnel in the accomplishment of tasks set forth herein. As the senior ART, plans, organizes, and manages the day-to-do activities of the Aerial Port function.

Manages operations and administration of Aerial Port programs and activities as representative of Aerial Port commander. Manages the training program for Aerial Port personnel. Provides guidance regarding unit training, reaction time, and mission capability. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. (For locations with subordinate positions). Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management.

Accomplishes various administrative responsibilities. Serves as unit supply custodian. Acts as Unit Deployment Coordinator. Submits and justifies annual tour, UTA flyaway/drive-away requirements by location and dates to Headquarters AFRC Deployment Review Board (ORB) through appropriate channels for approval.
