The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as a Warfighting Education Instructor and military doctrine development specialist at the Eaker Center for Leadership Development and Warfighting Education.
Plans, researches, and conducts lecture and platform instruction (to include leading Seminar format small group practicum) for Professional Continuing Education (PCE) associated with CSAF and Joint Staff focused education development of Air Staff Planners and operational planning team members.
Maintains high awareness of periodic changes in National Security Strategy, Unified Campaign Plan, and Global Force Management (including Advanced Planning Environment and Execution (APEX)/Joint Planning Process) in order to deliver PCE for joint education and training.
Develops and maintains courseware and student products consistent with current doctrine, operational Theater and Combatant Command plans, and historical Case Studies to advance PCE exposure to operational design and Airpower Theory commensurate with Intermediate Professional Military Education levels.
Applies Instructional Systems Design rigor to base lesson plans and visual aids, empowers student collaboration through a Student-Centered Active Learning Environment (SCALE) classroom environment, and advances educational material delivery through cloud and portal based student delivery platforms.
Provisions and sustains course management protocols through direct coordination with Major Command training quota managers, Headquarters Air Force course sponsors, and individual student allocation quotas across a $5 million HAF Education Requirements Board annual distribution. Plans and sustains Mobile Education Teams as requested by Major Commands.
Leads cross-organizational faculty development opportunities for Air University staff through in-depth research of emerging changes to the National Security Strategy (National Defense Strategy), Joint Doctrine, Multi-Domain Command & Control, learning theory, and critical Case Study presentations.
Maintains and improves professional expertise and faculty development through attendance of technical courses (Defense, Joint, and Service) in one or more areas of joint planning, (joint) Information operations, Command & Control, Defense Logistics Planning, Expeditionary Warfare, Agile Combat Support, and Global Force Management & Planning.
Participates in education management and student management system seminars to improve performance and education delivery as identified in previous Duties. Demonstrates mastery of Duties 1 and 2 with an annual instructor evaluation and documented performance review for certification to administer, instruct, and present relevant courseware.
