The primary purpose of this position is to perform repairs and preventive maintenance to water plants and sewage lift stations. Performs tests on raw and treated water. Operates base water plant as operator in charge on a 7 day a week/24 hour per day rotation. Monitors, Operates, and repairs sewage lift stations.
- Independently operates and monitors water, swimming pool, and sewage lift station system motors, pumps, valves, chlorinators, booster pumps, tanks, etc., through use of manual means or computer telemetry operating systems. - Works independently in charge of the water pumping treatment plants, Swimming pools, and sewage lift stations.
- Troubleshoots/tests various plumbing systems and equipment within the Water Treatment plant including backflow prevention devices such as reduced pressure principle devices, double check devices, atmospheric vacuum breakers and other cross connection devices.
- Maintains detailed records during assigned shift to reflect all activities such as periods of operations and amount of water pumped from each well, gauge and chart readings, amounts and types of chemicals used, test result readings, static water level and draw down versus capacity or pumping rate. - Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment.
