Job Summary

The primary purpose of this position, Wildland Firefighter (Prevention), GS-0456-08 potential GS-08456-09 is to provide technical guidance, program development and review, and to plan, coordinate, and evaluate an integrated fire management program to achieve Wildland Support Module objectives.
Key Responsibilities
-Develop short- and long-range fire management plans. -Analyze the wildland fire policies and standards received from federal and state agencies. -Lead prescribed fires and initial and extended attacks on suppression of wildfires. -Operate mobile firefighting equipment, e.g., tenders, engines, tractor/transports and/or all-terrain vehicles (ATV's).
