How coverage works.

Most Americans under 65 get health coverage through an employer. Employers with 50 or more full-time-equivalent workers must offer coverage or pay a penalty under the Affordable Care Act; smaller employers may offer it. Others buy plans on the federal or state marketplaces. Benefits such as paid leave and retirement plans (401(k)) vary by employer; there is no federal law requiring paid vacation or sick leave.
We do not yet show state-level coverage or benefit statistics because we have not collected an official, dated table for all states (planned).
