Job Summary

This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. ARTs are part of the regular career civil service and enjoy all the benefits granted to Federal employees in the competitive civil service. In addition, ARTs are required to maintain their active membership in the AF Reserve unit where assigned. ARTs receive on average one weekend of military training per month.

Key Responsibilities

The primary purpose of this position is: to serve as the Maintenance Superintendent, Air Reserve Technician (ART), in either the Aircraft Maintenance Squadron (MS), Rescue Squadron (RQS), or Rescue Group (RQG). Duties: Plans on a quarterly or longer basis the overall use of personnel and other resources in two or more separate organizational segments or groups controlled through one or more levels of supervision.

Assigns and explains work requirements and operating instructions to subordinate supervisors and sets deadlines and establishes the sequence of work operations to be followed. Participates with subordinate supervisors/employees in the development of performance plans.

Ensures education in, compliance with, and practice of security directives, good safety, and health habits in all work areas. Reserve training.

Administers the reserve training and quality programs for flight ensuring consistent standards throughout the flight for traditional reservists and ARTs.
