Job Summary

The primary purpose of this position, ATTORNEY-ADVISOR (CONTRACT) NH-0905-04, is to serve as a senior legal advisor, providing support for all acquisition activities serviced, including advice on technology transfer and data rights issues.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the chief legal counsel for designated Portfolio Acquisition Executive (PAEs) acquisition programs. Provide legal advice and assistance to Federal laboratories and Technology Transfer officials on Technology Transfer, services, data rights copyright law, licensing and intellectual property law as assigned. Examine legal issues raised by requests for formal opinions or legal advice.

Communicate and coordinate legal advice with other attorneys and the offices of General Counsel at higher levels with the Department of the Air Force, as well as other Department of Defense agencies and other agencies of Federal, State and Local Government.

Maintain current knowledge of changing statutory and regulatory guidance relating to system development, technology acquisition, technology transfer services, and sustainment, as well as general developments in technology that may improve the effective delivery of legal services.

Requirements & Education

Must be a graduate of a law school accredited by the American Bar Association, and be currently licensed as an attorney, in active (or equivalent) status and in good standing, with the bar of a U.S. state, territory, or commonwealth. The attorney must maintain such bar membership in at least one jurisdiction during the entire course of employment with the Air Force.
