This position is located in the Office of Local Defense Community Cooperation (OLDCC) Headquarters Office in Arlington, VA. OLDCC, statutorily authorized under Title 10 USC §198, is a unique Department of War (DoW) field activity that furthers the Secretary's priorities by supporting efforts to enhance the readiness and lethality of military installations, ranges, and test facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following: Serves as a Project Manager for the Office of Local Defense Community Cooperation (OLDCC), under the direction of the OLDCC Director, coordinating technical and financial assistance on behalf of Defense-impacted areas as they seek to respond to impacts arising from local Department of War (DoW) activity.
Organizes appropriate local, intergovernmental, or inter-agency leadership groups and OLDCC staff teams to plan and implement projects, including coordinating with and assisting communities with the development of Federal grant applications. Serves as the senior subject matter expert in OLDCC providing guidance and direction to ensure compliance with environmental laws, regulations, and policies regarding the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
Develops a program and strategic plan to encompass all NEPA regulatory requirements across all OLDCC lines of effort. Plans, organizes, leads, and represents OLDCC and the DoW at conferences, meetings, working groups, and field visits at the local, state, and Federal levels, to include leadership and staff at local installations.
