Job Summary

You will serve as a CIVIL ENGINEER. Make a difference in the West by assisting in meeting increasing water demands while protecting the environment. Duty Location: Durango, CO, Grand Junction, CO, Salt Lake City, UT . May involve occasional travel up to 10% of the time (some overnight stays) to attend meetings, conferences, training, site visits, etc. You must obtain a government charge card for travel purposes.

First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the step 1 rate.

Key Responsibilities

As a Civil Engineer, you will perform the following duties: Assist in a variety of operations at Colorado River Storage Project (CRSP) facilities and projects to meet obligations, environmental requirements, and regulatory requirements. Use computer models to simulate, analyze, plan reservoir operations, and inform decisions. Participate on and/or lead technical work groups or teams for hydrologic investigations.

Develop, modify, and utilize databases to maintain hydrologic or engineering data for conducting operational and planning analyses. Interpret, analyze, and evaluate hydrologic and engineering data on a regular basis. Work on complex or controversial water issues whose solutions require a proven understanding of hydrology, engineering, water resource and reservoir management, and other applicable disciplines.

Provide current information on policy, resource management, water regulations, and technical requirements to stakeholders.

Transcripts must include your name, school name, grades, credit hours earned, major(s), grade point average or class ranking, and date the degree was conferred, if applicable. A typed list of courses, grades, semester/quarter hours, GPA, etc. will not be accepted.

Non-submission may result in being rated not qualified for the position. Unofficial transcripts are acceptable, but if you are selected for this position and you used your education to qualify, you must provide official transcripts before you begin work.

Foreign Education: To receive credit for education completed outside the United States, you must show proof that the education has been submitted to a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign educational credentials and such education has been deemed at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education programs.
