The primary purpose of this position is: as an Air Reserve Technician (ART), to serve as command post training manager and carry out all functions associated with command post operations for airlift/rescue/fighter/special operations and tanker units. DUTIES: DUTY 1: Manages and Implements Command Post training program.
Develops and implements training syllabus for initial qualification, proficiency training and certification programs for CP controllers, augmentees and others as designated. Analyzes requirements from various commands, determines unit requirements based on current and potential mission requirements, and creates initial, recurring and refresher training lesson plans to ensure personnel are proficient in command and control (C2).
DUTY 2: Command and Control Operations (C2OP) and mission monitoring. Analyzes and evaluates unit requirements and functions in support of the unit commander and staff as it relates to command and control under contingency and peacetime operations. Directs and implements actions in response to all Higher Headquarters (HHQ) operations orders (OPORD) and operations plans (OPLAN). Executes positive Command and Control (C2) of assigned forces and weapons systems.
DUTY 3: Emergency Actions. Receives, analyzes, deciphers and takes actions on time critical HHQ alert orders and messages as it relates to airbase defense, sabotage, acts of war, posturing of forces and natural disasters. Develops, coordinates and initiates Emergency Action Checklists (EACs). Executes command and control of alert aircrews and airframes. Coordinates and directs alert functions with various on and off base agencies and HHQ. DUTY 4: Operational Reporting.
Receives, analyzes and disseminates C2 message traffic to appropriate wing agencies. Collects information, analyzes and determines reporting requirements using multiple HHQ instructions and guidance. Brief and advise wing leadership of significant events and reporting requirements.
Authors and transmits reports to provide situational awareness of an event, situation, status of forces or disaster to commanders, HHQ, Joint Staff, Office of the Secretary of Defense, and the President of the United States which may attract national or international interest or is of a significant news media interest. DUTY 5: Facilities, Communications Systems, Equipment and Material. Assists with the management and control of facilities, equipment, and supplies.
Assists in developing and executing physical, administrative, and communications security programs for the command post. Administration and Resource Management. Assists with maintaining publications and forms library. Accomplishes self-assessments, identifies problem areas, addresses deficiencies, and makes recommendations for improvements and implements recommended improvements.
Provides input to various processes for the CP as required to include: budget, equipment and supplies.
