The primary purpose of this Air Reserve Technician (ART) position is to serve as command post training manager carrying out all functions associated with command post operations for airlift/rescue/fighter/special operations and tanker units.

Key Responsibilities

Develops and implements training syllabus for initial qualification, proficiency training and certification programs for Command Post controllers, augmentees and others as designated. Develops, administers, and documents written exams and scenario testing for evaluating the proficiency of personnel. Analyzes and evaluates unit requirements and functions in support of the unit commander and staff as it relates to command and control under contingency and peacetime operations.

Serves as the focal point of contact and executes mission movement of the unit's peacetime, contingency, and wartime flying operations. Receives, analyzes, deciphers and takes actions on time critical Higher Headquarters' alert orders and messages as it relates to air base defense, sabotage, acts of war, posturing of forces and natural disasters.

You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This is an Air Reserve Technician Enlisted position. Air Reserve Technicians are part of the regular civil service and enjoy all the benefits granted to Federal employees in the competitive civil service. In addition, ARTs are required to maintain active membership in an Air Force Reserve unit so long as they occupy Air Reserve Technician positions. As members of reserve units, ARTs receive on average one weekend of military training per month.

In addition, they are eligible for 15 days active duty tour each year for which military leave is granted with full civilian pay. Air Reserve units and members are subject to immediate call to active duty in mobilization to meet a national emergency. Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
