Job Summary

The Department of Justice's National Fraud Enforcement Division investigates and prosecutes fraud against the American people by using advanced data-driven investigative techniques; coordinating with agencies responsible for administering taxpayer-funded programs; partnering with federal, tribal, state, territorial, and local law enforcement on fraud-fighting efforts; developing systems and processes that ensure efficient identification and investigation of fraud.

Key Responsibilities

This position is located at the Department of Justice Headquarters in Washington D.C. The Deputy Assistant Attorney General (DAAG), Operations, serves as the principal executive responsible for directing the Division's operational infrastructure, administrative management systems, and mission support functions.

The incumbent provides executive leadership and oversight of the Division's internal operations, including Administration, Litigation Support, Information Technology, Victim Services, and the Office of the Chief Scientist. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that personnel, financial resources, technology platforms, scientific capabilities, records management systems, and operational support services effectively support the Division's nationwide enforcement mission.

The incumbent provides executive direction over the execution of established Department policies and management programs and is accountable for organizational effectiveness, operational readiness, resource stewardship, and program performance.

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: Serves as the principal executive advisor to the Assistant Attorney General on operational management, organizational effectiveness, resource utilization, and mission support functions. Provides executive leadership for Division-wide administrative and operational support programs. Establishes operational objectives, performance measures, management controls, and accountability systems supporting mission execution.

Directs implementation of Department-wide management initiatives, operational policies, and organizational performance programs. Evaluates operational risks, resource requirements, workforce capacity, and organizational readiness. Leads strategic planning efforts related to infrastructure, workforce management, technology modernization, and operational support services. Oversees the efficient utilization of personnel, funding, facilities, technology, and operational assets.

Establishes management controls and internal review processes to ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and Department requirements. Provides executive oversight of workforce planning, succession management, organizational design, and personnel administration activities. Oversees electronic discovery operations, document management, records administration, evidence management, litigation technology services, and analytical support activities.
