Key Responsibilities

The following are the duties of this position at the full working level. If this vacancy includes more than one grade and you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and receive training to help you grow in this position. Develops, coordinates and manages IRS Emergency Management Programs (Continuity/COOP and Incident Management) and administrative support functions.

Maintains the diverse aspects of the Service's emergency management program, including development of policy, procedures and guidance, plans and procedures, test and exercise, training, and corrective action programs related to mission essential functions and the coordination of mission critical information technology systems required to support them.

Assists in the design, development, support and maintenance of plans, continuity facilities, equipment, training programs and sessions, and staff necessary to ensure the Services' aggressive and full compliance with National Continuity Policy and Federal Continuity Directives, Presidential Decision Directives (PDDs) and Homeland Security Presidential Directives (HSPDs), as well as its Service specific needs.

Maintains appropriate equipment inventory; coordinates all secure communication equipment updates, and maintenance in accordance with communication standards. Assists with maintaining the Service's Continuity/Continuity of Operations Plans (COOP), and Incident Management Plan. Coordinates, tracks and maintains emergency management training program. Serves as instructor, develops and presents workshops, and designs and develops instructional materials.

Maintains Service's test and exercise schedule, designs, develops, conducts, monitors, tracks, and evaluates tests and exercises. Coordinates, tracks and maintains emergency management corrective actions identified during audits, program reviews, real world incidents and tests and exercises. Requirements & Education

A college or university degree generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. For a list of schools which meet these criteria, please refer to Department of Education Accreditation page. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements.

You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
